Heaven
Let's us create this heaven on This Planet Earth.
"Heaven" is
a song by Canadian singer and songwriter Bryan Adams, originally
recorded in 1983, co-written by Adams and Jim Vallance. It first
appeared on the A Night in Heaven soundtrack album in the same year and
was later included on Adams' album Reckless in 1984. It was released as
the third single from Reckless and reached number 1 on the U.S.
Billboard Hot 100 in June 1985, over a year and a half after the song
first appeared on record. The single was certified Gold in Canada in
1985.[1]
Heavily influenced by Journey's 1983 hit "Faithfully",
the song was written while Adams served as the opening act on that
band's Frontiers Tour, and features their drummer, Steve Smith.[2] The
song provided Adams with his first number one single and third Top ten
hit on the American charts; according to Billboard magazine the song
also entered the Top 25 of the most successful singles of 1985 in the
U.S.[3]

Oh, thinkin' about our younger years
There was only you and me
We were young and wild and free
Now nothin' can take you away from me
We've been down that road before
But that's over now
You keep me comin' back for more
Baby, you're all that I want
When you're lyin' here in my arms
I'm findin' it hard to believe
We're in Heaven
And love is all that I need
And I found it there in your heart
It isn't too hard to see
We're in Heaven
Oh, once in your life you find someone
Who will turn your world around
Bring you up when you're feelin' down
Yeah, nothin' could change what you mean to me
Oh, there's lots that I could say
But just hold me now
'Cause our love will light the way
And baby you're all that I want
When you're lyin' here in my arms
I'm finding it hard to believe
We're in Heaven
Yeah, love is all that I need
And I found it there in your heart
It isn't too hard to see
We're in Heaven, yeah
I've been waitin' for so long
For somethin' to arrive
For love to come along
Now our dreams are comin' true
Through the good times and the bad
Yeah, I'll be standin' there by you
And baby you're all that I want
When you're lyin' here in my arms
I'm findin' it hard to believe
We're in Heaven
And love is all that I need
And I found it there in your heart
It isn't too hard to see
We're in Heaven, Heaven, woah
You're all that I want
You're all that I need
