Eye In The Sky (Cover Version of The Alan Parsons Project)

Eye In The Sky

I have never expected that The Rock band The Alan Parsons Project was from England, as it was impressed to me, it was from the United States.  Only recent years been in England, I came to know so many of my favourite musical artists and musical bands are from England.  I felt been blessed to go to England and be part of these musical talented artists and also musical talented groups.

"Eye in the Sky" is a 1982 song by the British rock band The Alan Parsons Project from the album Eye in the Sky. It hit #3 on the Billboard charts in the U.S. in October 1982,[1] #1 in both Canada and Spain, and #6 in New Zealand and was their most successful release. The instrumental piece entitled "Sirius" segues into "Eye in the Sky"' on the original recording. Lady Antebellum's 2010 hit "Need You Now" has been heavily compared to the chorus.[2]

Eye In The Sky

From: Wikipedia, the free encyclopaedia.

The 1:54 minute instrumental piece entitled "Sirius" immediately precedes "Eye in the Sky"' on the original recording, which then seamlessly leads into "Eye in the Sky" as a second track. On the single release, "Eye In The Sky" appears on its own, with "Sirius" edited out; this is the version that was usually played on pop radio at the time. However, Album-oriented Rock (AOR) and classic rock stations almost exclusively include the "Sirius" intro. "Sirius," meanwhile, has become a staple of many big-time college and professional sporting arenas throughout North America, and is best known in the U.S. as the instrumental song that was used to introduce the starting lineup of the Chicago Bulls for home games played at the old Chicago Stadium and then the United Center in the 1990s, during their run of six NBA championships between 1991 and 1998.[3] The instrumental piece (along with "Eye in the Sky") will be also used as the entrance song to the Chicago Cubs starting in the 2017 season[citation needed].

The piece has also been used by the Phoenix Suns and Milwaukee Bucks to introduce their starting lineup during home games. The Utah Jazz also used the instrumental piece to introduce their starting lineup for Game 6 of the 1998 NBA Finals, which was played at the Delta Center in Salt Lake City, Utah on June 14, 1998. Since the 1994 season, "Sirius" has played before the Nebraska Cornhuskers' home football games as part of the pre-game Tunnel Walk.[2][3] In Italy, Serie A team Sassuolo Calcio use this song when the team enters the pitch at the home games. In Australia the piece is used by the Melbourne Rebels when introducing their starting lineup. Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat used an abbreviated version of "Sirius" as his entrance music for his 1980s tenure in the World Wrestling Federation.

"Eye In The Sky" is heard on the 2002/2003 video game compilation Activision Anthology on the virtual tape deck in the main menu.

Reports surfaced in November 2010 that Lady Antebellum's single "Need You Now" has the same melody as "Eye In The Sky".[4]

Alan Parsons (born 20 December 1948[1]) is an English audio engineer, songwriter, musician, and record producer. He was involved with the production of several significant albums, including the Beatles' Abbey Road and Let It Be, and the art rock band Ambrosia's debut album Ambrosia as well as Pink Floyd's The Dark Side of the Moon for which Pink Floyd credit him as an important contributor. Parsons' own group, the Alan Parsons Project, as well as his subsequent solo recordings, have also been successful commercially.

Song Lyric

Don't think sorry is easily said
Don't try turning tables instead
You've taken lots of chances before
But ain't gonna give anymore
Don't ask me, that's how it goes
'Cause part of me knows what you're thinkin'

Don't say words you're gonna regret
Don't let the fire rush to your head
I've heard the accusation before
And I ain't gonna take any more
Believe me, the sun in your eyes
Made some of the lies worth believing

I am the eye in the sky
Looking at you
I can read your mind
I am the maker of rules
Dealing with fools
I can cheat you blind
And I don't need to see anymore
To know that
I can read your mind (looking at you)
I can read your mind (looking at you)
I can read your mind (looking at you)
I can read your mind

Don't leave false illusion behind
Don't cry I ain't changing my mind
So find another fool like before
'Cause I ain't gonna live anymore
Believing some of the lies
While all of the signs are deceiving

I am the eye in the sky
Looking at you
I can read your mind
I am the maker of rules
Dealing with fools
I can cheat you blind
And I don't need to see anymore
To know that
I can read your mind (looking at you)
I can read your mind (looking at you)
I can read your mind (looking at you)
I can read your mind

I am the eye in the sky
Looking at you
I can read your mind
I am the maker of rules
Dealing with fools
I can cheat you blind
And I don't need to see anymore
To know that
I can read your mind (looking at you)
I can read your mind (looking at you)
I can read your mind (looking at you)
I can read your mind

Can't Fight This Feeling (Cover Version of REO Speedwagon)

Can't Fight This Feeling ...

I can't fight this feeling anymore.  It is such a beautiful song and love to sing them dearly.  Anyway REO speedwagon is one of the musical group band I love them dearly.  I remembered some of his songs was in the song magazines and I used to buy them to get the guitar chords and lyrics.  Today it is easily available on the internet and thanks to the present technology for us to enjoy the fruit of 20 years accumulations.

Two different music videos exist for the song. One is a basic video, appearing almost homemade, featuring the band in the studio. It begins with Kevin Cronin playing the piano, attempting to find the key in which he can best sing the song (starting off in G major, he later decides he can sing it better in A). After Cronin exchanges some laughs with his bandmates, the song officially begins; the video essentially consists of the band members lip-synching to the original track of the song. It then concludes with Cronin uttering the line, "That warmed the cockles of my cockles!"[6] The other version of the video is much more "professional," and makes various references to the life-cycle.[7] Both videos have been shown at various times on VH1 Classic.

"Can't Fight This Feeling" is a power ballad[2] performed by the American rock band REO Speedwagon, the single remained three consecutive weeks at the number one position at the U.S. Hot 100 chart from March 9 to March 23, 1985.[3]

The song is about a man falling in love with a girl with whom he has been friends for a long time. The song first appeared on REO Speedwagon's 1984 album Wheels Are Turnin'. It was the group's second number-one hit on the U.S. charts (the first being 1981's "Keep on Loving You", also written by Kevin Cronin) and reached number sixteen in the UK.[4] "Can't Fight This Feeling" has appeared on dozens of 'various artists' compilation albums, as well as several REO Speedwagon greatest hits albums.[5]

REO Speedwagon performed the song at the 1985 Live Aid concert, they were introduced by Chevy Chase, mentioning that the song was a number one single at the moment in the United States.

I can't fight this feeling any longer
And yet I'm still afraid to let it flow
What started out as friendship has grown stronger
I only wish I had the strength to let it show

I tell myself that I can't hold out forever
I say there is no reason for my fear
'Cause I feel so secure when we're together
You give my life direction, you make everything so clear

And even as I wander, I'm keeping you in sight
You're a candle in the window on a cold, dark winter's night
And I'm getting closer than I ever thought I might

And I can't fight this feeling anymore
I've forgotten what I started fighting for
It's time to bring this ship into the shore
And throw away the oars forever

'Cause I can't fight this feeling anymore
I've forgotten what I started fighting for
And if I have to crawl upon the floor
Come crashing through your door
Baby, I can't fight this feeling anymore

My life has been such a whirlwind since I saw you
I've been running around in circles in my mind
And it always seems that I'm following you, girl
'Cause you take me to the places that alone I'd never find

And even as I wander, I'm keeping you in sight
You're a candle in the window on a cold, dark winter's night
And I'm getting closer than I ever thought I might

And I can't fight this feeling anymore
I've forgotten what I started fighting for
It's time to bring this ship into the shore
And throw away the oars forever

'Cause I can't fight this feeling anymore
I've forgotten what I started fighting for
And if I have to crawl upon the floor
Come crashing through your door
Baby, I can't fight this feeling anymore
Ooh, ooh, ooh

I love you

Only Time ...

Only Time was caught my heart long ago and somehow it went away from my life.  Only last year this song came back alive to my life again and first attempt singing this song and record it,  I did not realised time passes by so fast and it was released in Nov, 2000.

"Only Time" is a song by the Irish singer, songwriter and musician Enya, released in November 2000 as the lead single to her fifth studio album, A Day Without Rain (2000).

In 2001, "Only Time" was released again as a remix. The track was remixed by the Swiss American Federation (S.A.F.) (Christian B. and Marc Dold) with a final remix by Enya's producer, Nicky Ryan. Enya donated the earnings from the sale of that single to the Uniform Firefighters Association's Widows' and Children's Fund to help the families of fire fighters in the aftermath of 9/11.[1] The song was also featured in the soundtrack of the motion picture Sweet November. Following the September 2001 attacks, sales of the album and its lead single, "Only Time", skyrocketed after it was used by several radio and television networks in their coverage and aftermath of the attacks. As a result, "Only Time" climbed to number ten on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart and number one on the adult contemporary chart.[2][3][4]

During the summer of 2001, NBC used the song in commercials to promote Friends, which ended its season on a cliffhanger. The exposure helped the song gain familiarity and increased radio play. As a result, the song became Enya's first top 40 radio hit in 12 years. The song appeared twice on the TV show Viva La Bam where it first appeared in the montage of Bam Margera destroying Don Vito's cars in "Bamiature Golf" and again in "Where's Vito?" during a retrospective for Bam's Hummer after it was thrown off the cliff by Vito. Enya performed the song at the 2001 World Music Awards. On November 13, 2013, a Volvo Trucks campaign featuring the song and Jean-Claude Van Damme was launched. The success of the ad caused "Only Time" to re-enter the Billboard Hot 100 at #43,[5][6] and the UK Singles Chart at #95. The song's music video, which shows Enya performing the song in a spring, summer, fall and winter theme, was directed by Graham Fink and was released in 2000.[7] In 2002, the song received a ECHO Award for Best Single of the Year.

Song Lyric

Who can say
Where the road goes
Where the day flows
Only time
And who can say
If your love grows
As your heart chose
Only time

Who can say
Why your heart sighs
As your love flies
Only time
And who can say
Why your heart cries
When your love lies
Only time

Who can say
When the roads meet
That love might be
In your heart.
And who can say
When the day sleeps
If the night keeps
All your heart.

Night keeps all your heart

Who can say
If your love grows
As your heart chose
Only time
And who can say
Where the road goes
Where the day flows
Only time

Who knows - only time
Who knows - only time

Could It Be Magic (Cover Version of Barry Manilow)

COULD IT BE MAGIC ...

Could it be magic for me this year 2017?  Spirits move me ...every time you near me ... cyclone in my mind .. Anyway 2017 gonna be a great year for me to move on with my new life.  I can see the bightness end of the tunnel.

"Could It Be Magic" is a song with lyrics written by Adrienne Anderson and music composed by Barry Manilow, based on chord and melodical progressions of Frédéric Chopin's Prelude in C Minor, Opus 28, Number 20. Initially released in 1971, it was later rerecorded, given an album release in 1973 and a single release in 1975. This became one of Manilow's first hits. The song has been covered by a number of other artists over the years, most successfully by Donna Summer in 1976 and by Take That in 1992.

Could It Be Magic

From: Wikipedia, the free encyclopaedia.
As Manilow had only composed or arranged commercial jingles up to that point, he was unproven as a pop-song arranger, and thus, he was not permitted to arrange the original backing track himself upon its first release in 1971.[1] Instead, this early version of the song was produced under the hand of Tony Orlando and recorded by Featherbed, a "ghost" group consisting of session musicians.

Originally released on the Bell Records label, the composer hated the Tony Orlando arrangement so severely (see Sweet Life) that, as Manilow has said in numerous subsequent interviews, he was appreciative of the fact that the song went nowhere on the charts. However, he has been quoted in recent years as having somewhat softened his opinion of the track, saying it's "kind of catchy".
Featuring a bubblegum pop beat, cowbells and a "Knock Three Times" feel, the chorus is the same, but the original verse lyrics have nothing to do with the hit version Manilow himself released in 1973.

That year, Manilow would come to be signed to Bell Records in his own right, immediately after which a completely reworked version with Manilow's own arrangement was included on his debut album, Barry Manilow I, released that fall. Six months later, former Columbia Records president Clive Davis would take over Bell Records and merge it into Arista with all the other Columbia Pictures-owned labels such as Amy, Mala, Colpix, and Colgems, to name a few.

Most of the artists at Bell were dropped during the merger, but due to the song's popularity, Manilow was brought over to Arista in the spring of 1974 and "Could It Be Magic" was released as a single a year later—a full two years after it had been originally recorded, where it reached number 6 in the United States.
The lyric "Sweet Melissa" is a tribute to singer Melissa Manchester, Manilow's then-Arista label-mate.

The song was remixed in 1993 using the original orchestration of brass and strings combined with new drums, bass and synthesizers, and was included on the album Greatest Hits: The Platinum Collection. An extended remix of the 1993 version was issued as a promotional 12" single and included on the 12" single of "I'd Really Love to See You Tonight".

Lyrics

Spirit move me every time I'm near you
Whirling like a cyclone in my mind
Sweet Melissa, angel of my lifetime
Answer to all answers I can find

Baby, I love you, come, come, come into my arms
Let me know the wonder of all of you
Baby, I want you now, now, now, and hold on fast
Could this be the magic at last?

Lady, take me high upon a hillside
High up where the stallion meets the sun
I could love you, build my world around you
Never leave you till my life is done

Baby, I love you, come, come, come into my arms
Let me know the wonder of all of you
And baby, I want you now, now, oh, now, oh now and hold on fast
Could this be the magic at last?

Could it be magic?
Come, c'mon, c'mon, come oh-oh come into my arms
Oh, let me know the wonder of all of you, all of you
Baby, I want you now, now, oh now, oh now and hold on fast
Oh, could this be the magic at last?
Could it be magic?

Come, c'mon, c'mon, come oh-oh come into my arms
Oh, let me know the wonder of all of you
Baby, I want you now, now, oh now, oh now and hold on fast
Oh, could this be the magic at last?
