I was play the acoustic guitar and really having a heavenly feeling in my HEART FELT HOMEland of my heart. Sealed With a Kiss was Bobby Vinton's twenty-third studio album for Epic Records. It was released in 1972 just before Epic released Vinton from his contract with them. The title track (a cover of Brian Hyland's 1962 hit) is the album's only single. Other covers include "The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face", "Speak Softly Love", "Some Kind of Wonderful", "Come Softly to Me", "Song Sung Blue", "The End of the World" and "Our Day Will Come".

"Sealed with a Kiss" is a song written by Peter Udell and Gary Geld. It was first recorded by The Four Voices in 1960 and released as a single, but their recording was not a hit.[1] 

In 1962, Brian Hyland, who often performed Udell and Geld's material, covered the song. Hyland's single began its run on June 6, 1962 and became a hit, reaching No. 3 on both the Billboard Hot 100 and the UK Singles Chart.[2] The personnel on the original Brian Hyland recording included Mundell Lowe, Al Caiola on guitar, Gary Geld on piano, George Duvivier on bass, Blackie Shackner on harmonica and Gary Chester on drums and Sticks Evans and Al Rogers on percussion.

When re-released in 1975, Hyland's recording charted in the UK at No. 7. Hyland also recorded a version in German.

A third Top 40 Hot 100 version came in 1972, when Bobby Vinton released a single, reaching No .19 in the Billboard singles chart.[4] This version also placed high on Billboard's adult contemporary chart. Vinton arranged the song himself, with a modern sound including a unique bongo opening that made the song stand out from the pack. The success of the single led to the release of an album, also titled Sealed With A Kiss that charted as a best seller. This single, which was a follow up to "Evry Day of My Life" marked a Vinton comeback in 1972, with the artist appearing on American Bandstand and other television shows on the strength of the single. Billboard ranked it as the No. 87 song for 1972.[5] Vinton's recording was used in both the trailer and end credits of the 2007 horror film All the Boys Love Mandy Lane.

Fortunately I was grew up with this song.  This is one of my late beloved father's favourite song.  This Oldies song is evergreen in England.  There are so many old folks love this song in the pubs where I sung.  Almost everyone will sing alone with you.  I sung this song in one of my xfactor in UK and also BGT too.

"Release Me" (sometimes rendered as "Release Me (and Let Me Love Again)"), is a popular song written by Eddie Miller and Robert Yount in 1949. Shortly afterward it was covered by Jimmy Heap, and with even better success by Ray Price and Kitty Wells. Subsequently, a big seller was recorded by Little Esther Phillips, who reached number one on the R&B chart and number eight on the pop chart.^[1] A version by Engelbert Humperdinck reached number one on the UK Singles Chart.^[2]

The Engelbert Humperdinck song has the distinction in the UK of holding the number-one slot in the chart for six weeks during March and April 1967, and preventing The Beatles single, "Penny Lane" / "Strawberry Fields Forever", from reaching the top. "Release Me" was also the highest selling single of 1967 in the UK, recording over one million sales, and eventually became one of the best selling singles of all time with sales of 1.38 million copies.^[3]

Although Miller later claimed to have written the song in 1946 and only being able to record it himself in 1949, he co-wrote it with Robert Yount in 1949.^[4] As they were working at that time with Dub Williams, (a pseudonym of James Pebworth),^[5] they gave him one-third of the song. The song was released with the writing credited to Miller-Williams-Gene, as Yount was using his stage name of Bobby Gene.^[4]

Although owner of Four Star Records, William McCall, would usually add his pseudonym "W.S. Stevenson" to the credit of songs he published, he failed to do so in 1949. However, in 1957, Miller and Yount entered into a new publishing agreement with Four Star Records, in which "W.S. Stevenson" replaced Williams as co-writer.^[6]

Yount signed away his royalty rights to William McCall in 1958, after which the credits to the song officially became "Miller-Stevenson", although multiple variations also existed.^[6] Engelbert Humperdinck's version, for example, is credited to Eddie Miller, Robert Yount, Dub Williams and Robert Harris. That last one, however, turned out to be also a pseudonym for James Pebworth.^[7]

With the bankruptcy of Four Star’s successor in interest, the copyright to the song was acquired by Acuff-Rose Music. When the initial term of copyright ended in 1983, it was renewed for a second term. Between 1983 and 1985 Acuff-Rose paid royalties to Yount, until they were notified by the family of the deceased William McCall of the 1958 assignment. Acuff-Rose then suspended payments until the dispute between the claimants was resolved. On December 24, 1996 the United States Courts of Appeals, Ninth Circuit, upheld the claim of the McCalls.^[6] 

The story of how the song reached number one in the UK Singles Chart^[8] is one of pure chance and being in the right place at the right time. In 1965, Humperdinck, who at the time was performing under the name of Gerry Dorsey, met up again with an old friend of his, Gordon Mills. By this time Mills was successfully managing Tom Jones. He took him onto his management roster and changed his name. He released a couple of near misses in the UK although one song "Dommage, Dommage" had been successful in Europe.^[2]

Early in 1967, Humperdinck was asked to stand in for Dickie Valentine, who was ill, on the variety TV show Sunday Night at the London Palladium.^[2] The show was one of the biggest rating shows in the UK at the time. He sang his latest song, "Release Me", an old US country hit, on the show and it reached number one in the UK Singles Chart on 2 March and stayed there for six weeks, keeping "Penny Lane"/"Strawberry Fields Forever" by The Beatles off the top of the charts in the process.^[2] The record stayed in the charts for a record fifty-six consecutive weeks.^[9]

The B-side, "Ten Guitars", became a surprise hit in New Zealand among young Maori moving to the cities for work, and not long after, the wider New Zealand music scene itself.^[10] 'Ten Guitars' later served as the name for a documentary on New Zealand popular music.^[11]

How can I tell her (Cover Version of Lobo)

How Can I Tell Her ...

I pay close attention to this song when I walk down the beach at Sunderland.  I will sing around 9 pm at the beach and some people passed by was curious and some even asked me.  I just told them I was practicing my singing.

I was listening to some Lobo hits and was enjoying How Can I Tell Her. Great melody, very romantic. Until I realized the song's character is a real POS, cheating a-hole. :D

Kind of unusual for a romantic song to take the cheater's viewpoint.

Roland Kent LaVoie (born July 31, 1943), better known by the stage name Lobo, is an American singer-songwriter who was successful in the early 1970s, scoring several U.S. Top 10 hits, including "Me and You and a Dog Named Boo", "I'd Love You to Want Me" and "Don't Expect Me to Be Your Friend".^[1]

By 1971, LaVoie had started calling himself Lobo (Spanish for wolf). Gernhard was an executive for Big Tree Records, and the company released his first single, "Me and You and a Dog Named Boo" in March 1971. The first major hit for the label, it reached #5 in the US and #4 in the UK by May of that year, launching a successful series of singles. It sold over one million copies and was awarded a gold disc in September 1971.^[2]
His debut album, Introducing Lobo, followed that May. In June 1971 his second single, "She Didn't Do Magic", was released. In September of the same year, "California Kid And Reemo" was released, followed by The Albatross. When Big Tree Records merged with Bell Records, Lobo's second project album Close Up was never released.

Under the Lobo alias, he released Of a Simple Man in 1972, which included back-to-back U.S. Top 10 hits, including "I'd Love You to Want Me" (#2, 18–25 November 1972) and "Don't Expect Me To Be Your Friend" (#8, 17–24 February 1973). The former became Lobo's biggest hit, a million-seller gaining gold disc status in November 1972^[2] and internationally reaching #1 in Germany in December 1973 and #5 in the United Kingdom in July 1974.

With the release of Calumet in 1973, Lobo had three more Top 40 hits: "It Sure Took a Long, Long Time," "How Can I Tell Her" and "Standing at the End of the Line." He made an appearance on American Bandstand that year. There were two further minor hit singles from the album, "There Ain't No Way" and "Love Me for What I Am".

In June 1974 Lobo's fourth album, Just A Singer, was released. It was the first album by Lobo to contain tracks not written by Lobo. The only single from the album was "Rings". "Don't Tell Me Goodnight" in 1975 became his last Top 30 single for Big Tree. Lobo also released the album, A Cowboy Afraid Of Horses with "Would I Still Have You" released as a single. The label followed it up with a compilation album that year entitled The Best of Lobo.

Somehow this is another of my signature song that I love to sing especially to my homeless friends on the streets in London.  This is also  one of my childhood song and never dare to sing it as I find it very difficult to sing it out.  After our beloved xfactor icon Susan Boyle got through, I decided to learn this most difficult song that I love so much.  the year 2012 came the dynamism to learn it by all means or way.  If you have the will, you will find the way.  Special Thanks to Simon  & Garfunkel.

"Bridge over Troubled Water" is the title song of Simon & Garfunkel's album of the same name. The single was released on January 26, 1970, though it also appears on the live album Live 1969, released in 2008. It reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart on February 28, 1970, and stayed at the top of the chart for six weeks. "Bridge over Troubled Water" also topped the adult contemporary chart in the U.S. for six weeks.[2] The single has sold 6 million copies worldwide.[3] This song's recording process exposed many of the underlying tensions that eventually led to the breakup of the duo after the album's completion. Most notably, Paul Simon has repeatedly expressed regret over his insistence that Art Garfunkel sing his song as a solo, as it focused attention on Garfunkel and relegated Simon to a secondary position. Art Garfunkel initially did not want to sing lead vocal, feeling it was not right for him. "He felt I should have done it," 

Paul Simon revealed to Rolling Stone in 1972. Garfunkel said that the moment when he performed it at a 1972 Madison Square Garden benefit concert, as part of a one-off reunion with Simon, was "almost biblical." In performances on the 2003 "Old Friends" tour, Simon and Garfunkel took turns singing alternate verses of the vocal. It was ranked number 48 on Rolling Stone's 500 Greatest Songs of All Time. Simon wrote the song in the summer of 1969 while Garfunkel was in Mexico filming Catch-22. The song originally had two verses and different lyrics. Simon specifically wrote it for Garfunkel and knew it would be a piano song. 

The chorus lyrics were partly inspired by Claude Jeter's line "I'll be your bridge over deep water if you trust in me," which Jeter sang with his group, the Swan Silvertones, in the 1958 song "Mary Don't You Weep."[4] Garfunkel reportedly liked Simon's falsetto on the demo and suggested that Simon sing. He and producer Roy Halee also thought the song needed three verses and a 'bigger' sound towards the end. 

Simon agreed and penned the final verse, though he felt it was less than fully cohesive with the earlier verses.[5] The final verse was written about Simon's then-wife Peggy Harper, who had noticed her first gray hairs ("Sail on, silvergirl").[6][7] The musicians were Wrecking Crew members Hal Blaine, Larry Knechtel, Joe Osborn and Gary L. Coleman. Knechtel won a Grammy for his piano arrangement. 

Garfunkel's first two attempts to record the vocal failed. The first two verses were finally recorded in New York with the final verse recorded first, in Los Angeles. The majority of the song was recorded in Columbia Records in Hollywood, Ca. Part of the song was first heard by a national audience on November 30, 1969, when it was included in the soundtrack of a one-hour TV special by the duo aired by CBS called Songs of America. The music appeared in the background of a clip with John F. Kennedy, Robert Kennedy and Martin Luther King, Jr.[8] Larry Knechtel spent four days working on the piano arrangement. Garfunkel came up with the intermediate piano chords between the verses while working with Knechtel.
