We Wish You a Merry Christmas (Cover Version of Traditional Song)

We Wish You a Merry Christmas ...

I was greatly disappointed in recent years, some EVIL PARASITES get offended by the beautiful greeting Merry Christmas.  Since our beloved in-coming 45th President of USA, Mr. Donald Trump had won and will be the next President of United States, the Christmas's spirits wishing Merry Christmas came back alive again and I do really appreciate this beautiful greeting more and more as days goes by.  So please don't take things for granted and don't gave a damn over it.  I had began promote the greeting Merry Christmas more than a month over facebook and other social media too.  Once again let me wish you and your loved one Merry Christmas in regardless whether you celebrate Christmas or not.  Merry Christmas greeting will be here and stay till infinity.

"We Wish You a Merry Christmas" is a popular English Christmas carol from the West Country of England.

In 1935, Oxford University Press published an elaborate four-part choral arrangement by Arthur Warrell under the title "A Merry Christmas", describing the piece as a "West Country Traditional Song".[1][2] Warrell's arrangement is notable for using "I" instead of "we" in the lyrics; the first line is "I wish you a Merry Christmas". It was subsequently republished in the collection Carols for Choirs (1961), and remains widely performed.[3]

The earlier history of the carol is unclear. It is absent from the collections of West-countrymen Davies Gilbert (1822 and 1823)[4] and William Sandys (1833),[5] as well as from the great anthologies of Sylvester (1861)[6] and Husk (1864).[7] It is also missing from The Oxford Book of Carols (1928). In the comprehensive New Oxford Book of Carols (1992), editors Hugh Keyte and Andrew Parrott describe it as "English traditional" and "[t]he remnant of an envoie much used by wassailers and other luck visitors"; no source or date is given.[8]

The greeting "a merry Christmas and a happy New Year" is recorded from 1740.[9] The English custom of performing inside or outside homes in return for food and drink is illustrated in the short story The Christmas Mummers (1858) by Charlotte Yonge, in which a group of boys run to a farmer's door and sing:

I wish you a merry Christmas
And a happy New Year,
A pantryful of good roast-beef,
And barrels full of beer.[10]

After they are allowed in and perform a Mummers play, the boys are served beer by the farmer's maid.[11]

The origin of this Christmas carol lies in the English tradition wherein wealthy people of the community gave Christmas treats to the carolers on Christmas Eve, such as "figgy pudding" that was very much like modern-day Christmas puddings.[12][13][14] A variety of nineteenth-century sources state that, in the West Country of England, "figgy pudding" referred to a raisin or plum pudding, not necessarily one containing figs.[15][16][17]

Song Lyrics
We wish you a merry Christmas,
We wish you a merry Christmas,
We wish you a merry Christmas
And a happy New Year.
Good tidings we bring
To you and your kin;
We wish you a merry Christmas
And a happy New Year.

2
Oh, bring us some figgy pudding,
Oh, bring us some figgy pudding,
Oh, bring us some figgy pudding,
And bring it right here.
Good tidings we bring
To you and your kin;
We wish you a merry Christmas
And a happy New Year.

3
we won't go till we get some,
We won't go till we get some,
we won't go till we get some,
So bring it right here.
Good tidings we bring
To you and your kin;
We wish you a merry Christmas
And a happy New Year.[1]

4
we all like our figgy pudding,
We all like our figgy pudding,
we all like our figgy pudding,
With all it's good cheers
Good tidings we bring
To you and your kin;
We wish you a merry Christmas
And a happy New Year.

Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer (Cover Version fo Traditional Song)

Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer ....

One of my most favourite reindeer is Rudolph.  It reminded me my childhood lives.  When I was a kid, I knew I was a special kid, doesnt follow any tom DICK and harry type of kids.  So naturally these WALKING DEAD kids usually wont call me or welcome me to join any of their games while at night I am usually help my beloved late mother washing our family clothing included underwears and panties.  These WALKING DEAD kids often calling me names and laughed at me helping my beloved late mommy washing clothing. The moment I knew Rudolph, I felt in love with his-story which similar to mine.  Thanks to the foggy Christmas Eve, Rudolph was chosen to lead reindeer on Santa's sleigh team.  I am still waiting for the foggy time of my life, so that opportunity would be prevail for me to lead a team of potential enlighten leaders of the world.

Rudolph is the son of Blitzen and Mitzi, the nephew of Dasher, Comet, and Cupid, the cousin and former rival of Arrow, the best friend, later boyfriend of Zoey, the lead reindeer on Santa's sleigh team, and the main protagonist of Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer: The Movie and it's sequel book Rudolph Saves The Sprites.

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.
Robert L. May created Rudolph in 1939, as an assignment for Chicago-based Montgomery Ward. The retailer had been buying and giving away coloring books for Christmas every year and it was decided that creating their own book would save money. Rudolph was supposed to be a moose but that was changed because a reindeer seemed friendly.[citation needed] May considered naming the reindeer "Rollo" or "Reginald" before deciding upon using the name "Rudolph".[7] In its first year of publication, Montgomery Ward had distributed 2.5 million copies of Rudolph's story.[8] The story is written as a poem in anapestic tetrameter, the same meter as "A Visit from St. Nicholas" (also known as "'Twas the Night Before Christmas").[citation needed] Publication and reprint rights for the book Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer are controlled by Pearson Plc.[citation needed]

Of note is the change in the cultural significance of a red nose. In popular culture, a bright red nose was then closely associated with chronic alcoholism and drunkards, and so the story idea was initially rejected. May asked his illustrator friend at Montgomery Ward, Denver Gillen, to draw "cute reindeer", using zoo deer as models. The alert, bouncy character Gillen developed convinced management to support the idea.[9]

Maxton Books published the first mass-market edition of Rudolph[citation needed] and a sequel, Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer Shines Again, in 1954.[citation needed] In 1991, Applewood Books published Rudolph's Second Christmas, an unpublished sequel that Robert May wrote in 1947.[citation needed] In 2003, Penguin Books issued a reprint version of the original Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer with new artwork by Lisa Papp.[citation needed] Penguin also reprinted May's sequels, Rudolph Shines Again and Rudolph's Second Christmas (now retitled Rudolph to the Rescue).[citation needed]

Lyrics

Rudolph, the red-nosed reindeer
had a very shiny nose.
And if you ever saw it,
you would even say it glows.

All of the other reindeer
used to laugh and call him names.
They never let poor Rudolph
join in any reindeer games.

Then one foggy Christmas Eve
Santa came to say:
"Rudolph with your nose so bright,
won't you guide my sleigh tonight?"

Then how the reindeer loved him
as they shouted out with glee,
Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer,
you'll go down in history!

Then one foggy Christmas Eve
Santa came to say:
"Rudolph with your nose so bright,
won't you guide my sleigh tonight?"

Then how the reindeer loved him
as they shouted out with glee,
Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer,
you'll go down in history!
You'll go down in history!
